Velvet Privacy — 18 Guide SEO Preparation & Fix Report
Source package: edit.zip
Prepared: 2026-10-02
Scope: Technical/content-preparation corrections only. The article bodies were not rewritten.
Executive summary
All 18 supplied guide posts have been cleaned and prepared as a consistent upload set.
The work focused on URL integrity, filenames/slugs, internal guide links, related-guide metadata, front-matter validity, category normalization, author metadata, and stale shipping wording that directly conflicted with the current site policy.
No article was substantively rewritten. Body-text changes were limited to:
- correcting obsolete/nonexistent guide URLs;
- correcting the worldwide shipping wording in three affected passages to refer to supported destinations.
Fixes completed
### 1. All 18 posts retained
The package contains exactly 18 Markdown posts. No post was removed.
### 2. Filename/slug consistency
The typo in the charging guide filename/slug was corrected:
- Old filename:
how-to-charge-satisfayer-pro-2-generation-2.md - New filename:
how-to-charge-satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2.md - New slug:
how-to-charge-satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2
All 18 filenames now match their front-matter slugs exactly.
### 3. Canonical URL preparation
The canonical URL for every post is now deterministically:
https://velvetprivacy.com/guides/{slug}/
No separate canonical front-matter field was added because the site's Next.js guide page generates the canonical from the slug. Adding a second unsupported canonical field to Markdown would not improve indexing.
### 4. Related-guide metadata
Invalid/nonexistent related-guide slugs were replaced with the current valid guide slugs.
Corrected examples include:
- satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2-shipping-returns-warranty-guide → shipping-returns-warranty-guide
- satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2-discreet-checkout → how-to-buy-satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2-discreetly
- satisfyer-pro-2-charging-guide → how-to-charge-satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2
- satisfyer-pro-2-waterproof-rating → satisfyer-pro-2-waterproof-ipx7
- satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2-intensity-levels → satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2-intensity-levels-explained
- satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2-for-beginners → satisfyer-pro-2-generation-2-buying-guide
The malformed object-based relatedGuides data in how-to-clean-satisfyer-pro-2.md was converted to the site's expected slug-string format.
The Noise Levels guide was also given an explicit set of valid related guides.
### 5. Internal guide links
All internal /guides/.../ links in the 18 articles were checked against the final 18-guide slug set.
Result: 0 broken guide links remain.
### 6. Front-matter validity
All 18 front-matter blocks now parse as valid YAML.
Specific repairs:
- fixed the missing closing quote on publishedAt in how-to-clean-satisfyer-pro-2.md;
- normalized the non-standard non-breaking-space indentation in the Review guide;
- normalized multiline arrays into consistent machine-readable metadata;
- preserved existing FAQ, tag, product, commercial-link and external-link data.
### 7. Category normalization
Unsupported category values were corrected to categories supported by the current guide system:
privacy-discreet-shopping→privacyproduct-care→product-guides
No guide is left with an unsupported category.
### 8. Author normalization
The inconsistent author values:
- VP Editorial Team
- Velvet Privacy
were normalized to:
Velvet Privacy Editorial Team
All 18 guides now use the same editorial author identity.
### 9. Title and description uniqueness
After correction:
- Duplicate titles: 0
- Duplicate meta descriptions: 0
No article was renamed merely to force artificial uniqueness.
### 10. Shipping-policy wording
Three outdated worldwide statements were corrected without rewriting the surrounding articles.
The wording now refers to supported destinations, consistent with the current shipping policy.
No worldwide reference remains in the 18 supplied posts.

Canonical/indexing note
The Markdown posts themselves do not control the final canonical tag. The current Next.js guide page is responsible for generating the canonical from each guide's slug.
Therefore the final production URLs should be:

What this package does not claim
This package prepares the 18 articles for indexing; it does not itself prove that Google has indexed them.
After deployment, Google Search Console should be used to inspect each canonical URL. The appropriate statuses to record are:
- Indexed
- Discovered — currently not indexed
- Crawled — currently not indexed
- Duplicate / alternate canonical
- Excluded
- Not found
- URL not known to Google
The six guides that were present in the supplied 18-post package but previously absent from the live /guides/ listing must be deployed before their indexing status can be meaningfully evaluated.
Upload/deployment checklist
- Upload/deploy all 18 Markdown files.
- Ensure the renamed charging file replaces the old
satisfayerfilename. - Regenerate/serve the guide sitemap after deployment.
- Confirm
/guides/exposes all 18 published guides. - Confirm each guide returns HTTP 200 at its canonical URL.
- Confirm each guide outputs a self-referencing canonical.
- Confirm each guide is indexable (
index, follow). - Confirm the sitemap contains all 18 guide URLs.
- Run Google Search Console URL Inspection for all 18 URLs.
- Request indexing only after the production URLs and sitemap are verified.
Important separation of concerns
This package intentionally does not modify:
- the Next.js guide rendering code;
- sitemap implementation;
- robots implementation;
- global metadata implementation;
- article prose beyond the specific link/policy corrections described above.
Those are site-level controls and should be handled in the production codebase separately from the Markdown upload package.
